The rod power supply system is used for the stability and reliability of AC 260V/150V power to the control rod drive mechanism (CRDM). The control rod drive mechanism is the major control element of nuclear reactor and plays a critical role in the safe and economic operation of nuclear power stations.
It consists of two sets of rod power supply unit and the control cabinet controlling the normal operation and grid connection of two sets of unit. Supplied by the two bus-bar, the two sets of M/G normally operate in parallel. In the event of loss of power to one set of M/G (transient drop or power failure), another set of M/G sizes to provide the required power for the operation continuously. |
