Engaging in the test work related to material assessment and nuclear equipment qualification, including various inspections of materials properties and equipment functions, development of experimental facilities and research of testing methods and software. In material assessment area, lab possesses more than 210 sets of test equipments, the laboratory has the capacity of testing materials high-temperature mechanical properties such as creep, rupture, relaxation, fatigue, fracture toughness, creep-fatigue crack propagation and creep-fatigue interaction and the capacity of characterizing material high-resolution microstructure. The lab also owns the first ultra-supercritical steam and flue gas corrosion testers in China that were developed with intellectual property rights. In the equipment qualification area, the laboratory possesses the test facilities including thermal aging test chamber, cold and hot alternating test chamber, nuclear power plant accidental simulation (LOCA) test device, electromagnetic vibration test stand , etc. and completes a series of qualification test work for electrical penetration assemblies of nuclear power plants. At the same time, the laboratory is researching, developing and constructing high-performance earthquake simulation test stand and nuclear power plant sealing element test stand. After all test facilities are completely constructed and put into operation, the laboratory will be able to undertake various types of equipment qualification test work including environment, earthquake resistance, accident simulation , etc. |
